ReConnect, Inc.'s Community Picnic a Success

Our very first Community and Family Affair Reentry Picnic was a blast!

Over 150 people from the Omaha metro area came out to support ReConnect, Inc. and enjoyed free food, giveaways, face-painting, and carnival games. There was even a clown who made balloon animals and other various shapes for the children and a few adults.

Some picnic attendees won raffle prizes including gifts cards to QuikTrip and Walmart.

Since the event happened to take place on College Football Saturday, ReConnect, Inc.'s Vice President Brent Williams brought his two televisions to watch the Huskers take the victory against Rutgers University.

The picnic could not have been on a more perfect day. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make our picnic a success.

It's impossible to name everyone without missing someone, but on behalf of Executive Director LaVon Stennis-Williams, ReConnect, Inc. would like to personally thank Gina Miller, Christine Merrell, Monika Bell, and Justin Wagner for serving food the entire event and Robert Wagner for helping with crowd control.

Also, we'd like to send out a special thanks to the community service providers that attended the event: Crossover Ministries, MCC 180 Wrap, Salvation Army, Project Everlast, William Young's Child Support Services and Nebraskans Unafraid.

It was a great event and we'd also like to thank those who came out for the picnic, brought their families, shared the post, helped decorate as well as set up and clean up.

Thank you all so much for making ReConnect, Inc.'s first community picnic a huge success!
