Hello Fall and Happy October!
ReConnect, Inc. has started this month off with our Toolbox Credentials Training Program where 10 hard-working participants will gain entry-level construction credentials they will be able to use their new skill sets to obtain a career in construction.
Later this month, ReConnect, Inc. in collaboration with Nebraska Writers Collaborative will be hosting a special event titled: Life Lessons with Chef Jeff Henderson. New York Times best-selling author and celebrity Chef Jeff Henderson will share his journey from incarceration to becoming a successful Chef. His message is simple: "I'm living the American Dream and so can you."
In addition to writing successful books, Chef Jeff is also the creator of a reality show series on The Food Network titled "The Chef Jeff Project" and the host of a new television series "Flip My Food."
Chef Jeff is noted as one of the most influential Chefs in the country and is heavily booked for motivational and public speaking engagements. Although he discovered his passion for cooking in an unlikely place, prison, he used his journey to become "better, not bitter." His journey from drug dealer to celebrity Chef now helps others to transform their lives and fulfill their dreams.

Free 40-hour entry-level construction training program is taught by industry professionals and participants will receive industry recognized credentials
October 12th| 1:00 PM - Job Club: Arid Resources Specialty Contractors
A representative from Arid Resources Specialty Contractors will be present to help job seekers who are interested in a career in the construction industry.
October 19th| 1:00 PM - Child Support Services
A representative from Child Support Services will speak about navigating through child support barriers and making adjustments.
October 23rd| 6:30 PM - Life Lessons with Chef Jeff Henderson
Celebrity Chef and New York Times best-selling author Chef Jeff Henderson will be visiting Omaha to discuss his journey from incarceration to becoming a successful Chef and author. Event is free, open to the public, and will be held at Hot Shops Art Center.

Every Thursday | 11:00 AM - Ready to Work Employment Workshops Weekly employment workshops help clients with resume development, mock interviews, job readiness skills, job leads and assistance applying for jobs.
